The map meta rewards are only awarded if the map succeeds, meaning that the tier reward will always be Tier 5, and nothing lower. If the meta fails, then players will get no rewards, regardless of how far/what tier it got to. The Wizard's Vault objective to complete this meta will be awarded even if the player did not participate.
