Champion Boneskinner Survivors alive: x Boneskinner retreats in: 10:00

At a certain point in the fight, the Boneskinner's defiance bar becomes unlocked. If the players fail to break the bar after some time, the Boneskinner will briefly disappear and teleport to a Vigil Survivor somewhere in the event area. Its victim is marked by a purple symbol in the mini-map. It will devour them, or even two of them if two survivors are at the same location. The Boneskinner will then reappear nearby and continue the fight, but will soon again get ready to attack and kill another Vigil survivor. Should it manage to eat all survivors or is undefeated by the time runs out, the event fails. If the Boneskinner's defiance bar is broken, it becomes stunned and will not teleport away. However, it will attempt again to devour a Vigil Survivor soon after.
