Overview
Condition Firebrand overwhelms its enemies in 
燃烧 while offering high utility to self and allies such as 
圣盾, projectile reflection, and some healing.
Despite being a condition build, it offers significant burst damage since most of it comes from burning, which is the highest damaging condition at the expense of lower duration. Most of its damage is AOE, giving it great cleave.
Its primary weakness is its lack of mobility and low might generation.
Additionally, with a few changes, the build can sacrifice some of its damage to provide itself and nearby allies with permanent 
急速.

Weapon Variants
Usage of pistol Pistols requires Expanded Weapon Proficiency from Secrets of the Obscure. If you lack access to pistols, use Sword Sword + Focus Focus.
- Staff - more support and ranged AOE, can be considered if playing the quickness support variant.
- Greatsword - higher burst but worst sustained damage.
Skill Variants
烈焰咒语 and 
净化火焰 are great sourcess of damage, but not essential. 
"坚守阵地！" is a good stunbreak. Other alternatives can be considered:
潜能咒语 - to provide 急速 for the support variant.
愤怒纹章 - passive damage, can replace "Stand Your Ground!"
"冲着我来！" alternative to "Stand Your Ground!" that provides more offensive boons, but can be risky in groups if it pulls too many conditions.
学识咒语 for more condition cleanse.
真相咒语 for 
目盲 on demand.
智慧之锤 or 
怨毒纹章 for more crowd control.
复仇之盾 or 
反射之墙 if projectiles are a problem.
正义之剑 for burst damage.
Specializations
Variants
- You can use
强壮右臂 if someone is already providing you with fury. 
传奇学识 is basically even in performance with 
沉言重词 for DPS Condi Firebrand when solo, so use whichever trait you prefer.
Honor
Honor offers higher might generation for yourself and nearby allies, longer boon duration from symbols, and higher defensive utility thanks to endurance regeneration and the small amount of sustain. Replaces Virtues Virtues at a significant DPS loss, but pairs very well with Celestial Celestial.
Equipment
Ascended gear is not required. You can use exotic gear with the same stats instead.
Viper DPS Equipment
This variant uses equipment similar to existing Condi DPS Firebrand raid builds, making it an easy gearing option for general PVE.
If you are gearing this character from zero, start with exotic quality gear. Search the trading post for "Viper's Abomination" weapons. Viper exotic armor is very expensive, so we recommend a budget alternative called Carrion (search the trading post for "Brutus" and "Sheena" armor) until you can get Viper gear such as by farming Bladed armor or by acquiring ascended armor. Upgrade to Viper and ascended as you progress. See also: Guide:How to Gear a Character.
Quickness Equipment
Generating high amounts of 急速 requires Ritualist Ritualist or Celestial Celestial gear and usage of the trait 
解放之誓 changing the heal skill to 
慰藉咒语.
For exotic Ritualist weapons search the trading post for "Luxon Hunter's Weapon Cache". For armor, there is no cheap alternative, search for "Ritualist's Ancient Kraken ". Upgrade to ascended as you progress.
- You can use full Ritualist Ritualist for more damage, or Celestial Celestial to sacrifice a small amount of damage for higher defense and healing.
- Use 潜能咒语 and
"怒气冲天！" off-cooldown. - Remember to use the trait 解放之誓 and the heal skill 慰藉咒语. Do not spam this mantra. Use a charge each time you refill to 3 charges. If you have
敏捷 from a nearby ally, the cooldown of the mantra will line-up perfectly with the cooldown of the trait (alacrity doesn't affect trait cooldowns, though it does affect skills from traits).

Usage
Tomes
The firebrand profession mechanic is their three Tomes, which replace their F1-F3 skills. When activated, Tomes replace your skillbar with new skills. Each Tome is dedicated to a different specialty.
正义圣书 - Damage via 燃烧
决心圣书 - healing and condition cleanse
勇气圣书 - defensive boons and projectile reflection
Using a tome skill consumes 1 Page, except Epilogue: Eternal Oasis Epilogue: Eternal Oasis and Epilogue: Unbroken Lines Epilogue: Unbroken Lines which consume 2 pages.

Damage
The key to firebrand is weaving the Tome skills with your weapon skills.
You will spend most of your Pages on the 正义圣书 using its high damage Chapter 2: Igniting Burst Chapter 2: Igniting Burst, Chapter 4: Scorched Aftermath Chapter 4: Scorched Aftermath, and Epilogue: Ashes of the Just Epilogue: Ashes of the Just. The Epilogue can be precasted before you start a fight, it is also applied to spirit weapons such as 正义之剑 if using any.
Tome priority
- Epilogue: Ashes of the Just Epilogue: Ashes of the Just, Chapter 2: Igniting Burst Chapter 2: Igniting Burst, Chapter 4: Scorched Aftermath Chapter 4: Scorched Aftermath
You want to use these three skills off-cooldown. Note that Epilogue: Ashes of the Just has the same cooldown as 净化火焰 so, if you use them together, you can look at Purging Flames to check the remaining cooldown of Epilogue: Ashes of the Just without having to open the Tome. Chapter 3: Heated Rebuke Chapter 3: Heated Rebuke can be used as an opener to pull enemies together.
When using 沉言重词, you will have some spare Pages in case you need some utility from the other 2 Tomes.
For your utility skills, use 净化火焰 off-cooldown and spam all charges of 烈焰咒语.
As for your weapons, you can use all your skills loosely following this priority
Axe-torch
Pistol-pistol
Symbol of Ignition is very powerful, make sure to only use it when you will be free to ignite it by hitting your enemy with other skills/projectiles. Don't use Hail of Justice if you don't have an active Symbol of Ignition.
If everything you have is on cooldown, fill with auto-attacks.
Boons
If playing with the required Ritualist Ritualist or Celestial Celestial gear, traits, and skills:
- Use 潜能咒语 and "怒气冲天！" off-cooldown for 急速.
- Remember to use the trait 解放之誓 and the heal skill 慰藉咒语. Do not spam this mantra. Use a charge each time you refill to 3 charges. If you have 敏捷 from a nearby ally, the cooldown of the mantra will line-up perfectly with the cooldown of the trait (alacrity doesn't affect trait cooldowns, though it does affect skills from traits).
- If you're struggling to maintain quickness, which can happen without alacrity, you can use
稳健急速 to help maintain it.
Defense
- 勇气圣书 has many good defensive skills as mentioned above.
- Opening 正义圣书 while it is NOT dormant will blind nearby enemies due to
盲目正义. - Review your sourcess of 圣盾 in case you need to block a dangerous attack.
- Consider playing the Celestial Celestial version of the build with Honor Honor if you want a more tanky option.
