Overview
Condition mechanist is a strong and versatile DPS build that is both a strong and simple version of condi engineer. The addition of the mech ensures reliable damage with minimal input, and the strength of signets allows you to replace kits and vastly simplify the rotation as you desire.
The plethora of viable builds means that this is a strong option regardless of experience level, and it allows you to gently increase the difficulty (and damage) as you gain confidence.

Pistol Variants
Players who don't own Janthir Wilds cannot use spear, so Pistol/Pistol is the next best option. Pistols also have better ranged capabilities, which might be preferable on some encounters.
机甲核心:翠玉融合 is the strongest option for the Pistol build, but using
机甲核心:翠玉驱动器, you can dramatically simplify the rotation without losing too much damage.
If using
机甲核心:翠玉融合, replace
超导纹章 with
喷火器.
Skill Variants
- The heal skill can be whatever you want, though some options stand out:
整流纹章 is very potent with
机甲核心:翠玉驱动器 as it has higher passive healing, which isn't lost upon activating the signet.
自动除颤 allows you to survive some one-shot attacks.
治疗炮台 does an AoE condi cleanse when it is placed, which can be situationally useful.
- The highest damage option is to replace
超导纹章 with
喷火器 and use
机甲核心:翠玉融合, though the additional complexity means this may not be better in real encounters. - If you want to totally avoid kits, use
斥力纹章. Be aware that removing
手雷包 removes your main way of triggering both
追踪火箭 and
飞散弹片, which means
脾气爆发 and
超然爆发 should perform better, though the difference will be minor.

Non-SotO Relics
There are two options for core relics.
荆棘古物 has the highest potential, but it isn't triggered reliably on every encounter.
望族古物 works everywhere, but requires modifying your gear as follows:
- You would want to swap some pieces to Sinister stats Sinister stats such that you reach ~67% base condition duration, with bleeding and burning duration capped.
- It may be recommended to pick an option that offers some utility instead.

Spear rotation
The basic structure of Spear's rotation will be very familiar to players of engineer: You finish your auto chains and use DPS skills off cooldown until you use
管流激增 (skill 2), then jump into
手雷包 and use
破片手雷 along with
冰冻手雷 and
毒气手雷 if they are off cooldown.
The unique aspect of Spear is the Focused mechanic, which is applied by
管流激增 and refreshed by the last hit of the auto chain. You can only have a single Focused target, and hitting the target with Spear skills will trigger enhanced effects:
- The autoattack chain will apply
易伤
管流激增 applies more
燃烧
闪电矛杖 ⇒
电气炮轰 deals more damage, and applies more
易伤 and
燃烧.
连绵起伏 deals (slightly) more CC.
毁天灭地 will hit the Focused target with
聚焦毁天灭地, applying more damage and
燃烧.
Rotation fundamentals
Your three biggest damage contributions come from
闪电矛杖 ⇒
电气炮轰,
管流激增 and
破片手雷. When you activate
闪电矛杖 a whirling AoE spins around you for four seconds, gaining a charge for each target hit. After this
电气炮轰 will activate and do damage according to its charge. The cooldown for the skill begins once you activate
闪电矛杖 so using this skill is high priority, while you can afford to delay
电气炮轰 if needed (it lasts until
闪电矛杖 is ready again).
管流激增 and
破片手雷 have the same cooldown, so every time you use
管流激增 you can immediately jump into
手雷包 and use
破片手雷. These two skills form the backbone of your rotation.
You can swap out of
手雷包 either by pressing
手雷包 again or by weapon swapping. Using weapon swap will cancel animations when used, which could result in cancelling a grenade skill before its finished. Using
手雷包 a second time to leave the kit avoids this issue, but if you're only casting a single grenade skill (which is often the case) then the cooldown on kit swaps won't have ended when you need to leave. Ideally you should practise both methods.

You can look at the cooldown of
冰冻手雷 and
毒气手雷 whenever you go into
手雷包 for
破片手雷. If the cooldown is under two seconds, you exit, do an auto chain, then go back into
手雷包 for them.
Your two main skills have an effective cooldown of just under five seconds (with
急速 and
敏捷). However,
闪电矛杖/
电气炮轰 has an effective cooldown of just over 10 seconds, and your other grenade skills and
毁天灭地 have a ~16s cooldown (with
敏捷). This means that played optimally, these skills will end up shifting their position relative to each other over the course of the rotation.
You can simplify the rotation slightly if you slightly delay
管流激增 until after
闪电矛杖/
电气炮轰. As you always want to be following up
管流激增 with
破片手雷, your rotation should end up always casting these three skills together (alternating between
闪电矛杖 and
电气炮轰).
Additionally, if you find handling kits tricky (or just prefer a neater loop), you can use the following rotation, which is a relatively small DPS loss over the optimal one:

毁天灭地 to make the rotation loop properly. It also does not list mech skills or
超频纹章, which should be used off cooldown but have no cast time. You could set the mech skills to autocast, though this may be less effective than triggering them yourself.

天空马戏团: 232 defiance break - used for damage in your rotation, but the damage is low so you could hold onto it for CC

- As with Grenade Kit, it's helpful to look at cooldowns every time you're in
喷火器 so you have an idea of when to enter it next.

Mechanist's signets are very strong, which allows them to replace
手雷包 and
精英炮座 if you use the
机甲核心:翠玉驱动器 trait. This also allows you to use
位移纹章 without losing DPS.

冰冻手雷 outside of the opener.
Pistol Jade Dynamo rotation

The Jade Dynamo rotation (using three kits) is very complicated and essentially boils down to keeping track of priority cooldown skills and switching into kits as necessary to maximise their uses. Downtime between kit swaps are filled with Pistol autos.
To make this manageable, each "kit" you swap to (for these purposes we consider Pistols to also be a kit) has a key skill that we ideally want to swap to and use every time it comes off cooldown, as well as some lower-priority skills that you use if they happen to be off cooldown when you swap. The skills you use in each kit are:

You may notice that the cooldowns of the key skills (before
敏捷) are 5, 8 and 12 seconds, which do not fit together very neatly. The full rotation then is not going to look very neat, but it can be broken down into a general loop with three sections:

Cycle through each kit in turn, using all the skills named above in each. In general, the best order for kits will be

Winging It If you find the structure above difficult to follow, you can use your Pistol cooldowns to prompt you to swap kits:
- Every time you use
毒镖连射, go into
炸弹包
破片手雷 has roughly half the cooldown of
静电射击 and
火焰喷射, so use it once immediately before or after using these Pistol skills, then again when they are on a ~6 second cooldown.- Focus on the key skills so as not to delay your rotation.
- When swapping to kits to use key skills, have a look at the remaining cooldowns on the other skills. If they are ready, then swap back to the kit and use them when you would otherwise just be autoattacking on Pistol.
- Pistol skills should take priority.
General Tips
- Make sure you're within 360 units of your mech before using F1-3 skills, or they will have a 20% longer cooldown thanks to
机械天才. - Any of your other Pistol skills will interrupt
毒镖连射, so it's best to use it last.
- You can swap to
炸弹包 during the cast without interrupting the skill.
- You can swap to
- During the wind-up of
火焰喷射, it can be interrupted with
静电射击. Either make sure not to press
静电射击 too soon, or use
静电射击 first. - Press all your mech skills off cooldown - you can save
翠玉迫击炮 for CC if necessary. - If using
超频纹章, use it off cooldown. It is a very small DPS gain though, so hold on to it if there is any danger that the mech might die.
