Overview

Tempest is capable of providing permanent uptime of 敏捷 图标敏捷, 激怒 图标激怒, 威能 图标威能, 保护 图标保护, 再生 图标再生, 迅捷 图标迅捷 and 活力 图标活力 on their subgroup, along with a lot of healing.

The combination of 元素棱堡 图标元素棱堡 and 强效光环 图标强效光环 allows tempest to provide healing and 敏捷 图标敏捷 in a 600-unit radius by spamming auras. This allows a lot of freedom in terms of weapons, traitlines and skills to suit different encounters, though a bit of care is required to ensure all boon are being properly covered.

Additionally, you have tools such as "五行归元!" 图标"五行归元!" which will allow you to skip certain mechanics that would otherwise down the group, and 秘法复活 图标秘法复活 allows you to help revive players without locking yourself into the animation.

Weapon Variants

  • Staff has practically the same healing, but the lack of Warhorn creates a shortfall in boons that needs to be addressed. In return, Staff has greater ability to provide healing at range.
  • Even if you have to be at range a lot, Dagger is the best mainhand option for Warhorn as it contains an aura, a leap finisher (for providing more auras), and an extra source of 激怒 图标激怒.

Skill Variants

Utility As you need to leave 流水协调 图标流水协调 for boons, this can leave you without major sources of healing, so 流水纹章 图标流水纹章, 冰霜长弓 图标冰霜长弓 and 元素雕文 图标元素雕文 are there to fill in the gap. "炽火燎原!" 图标"炽火燎原!" provides long-range 威能 图标威能 to make up for the small AoE of 火焰过载 图标火焰过载. Any of these skills can be swapped out if desired:

Elite "五行归元!" 图标"五行归元!" provides 稳固 图标稳固 and a way to skip certain mechanics that would otherwise down the group.

Specializations

Specialization Variants

Arcane is chosen as a default traitline as the lower cooldowns on attunement swapping and overloads allows you to be more flexible with your rotation, and provides permanent 迅捷 图标迅捷 and extra 保护 图标保护 padding from 元素协调 图标元素协调. 秘法复活 图标秘法复活 is a nice bonus.

This said, Arcane is not essential, so it can be swapped to another traitline:

  • Fire and Earth add a lot of potential condi cleanse via 窒息光环 图标窒息光环 and 金刚石肤 图标金刚石肤, respectively. Fire provides more, and at double the range, but Earth has more synergy with the rest of a healer's kit.
  • Air offers higher CC.

Earth

Earth makes 保护 图标保护 very easy by adding it to your auras, provides an extra source of 稳固 图标稳固, and allows you to cleanse conditions with every blast finisher.

Fire

Fire also adds condition cleanse and additional sources of auras if using at least one conjured weapon. 火使威势 图标火使威势 can also be used to increase the AoE of your 威能 图标威能 provision - particularly helpful for Staff, which relies on the small 180-unit AoE from 火焰过载 图标火焰过载. However, the AoE from this trait is only 240 units so the difference may not be noticable.

Equipment Variants

  • 僧侣古物 图标僧侣古物 is the best option for players that don't own Secrets of the Obscure.
  • The gear above is designed to cap boon duration when using +70 concentration food.
  • 超级新生法印 图标超级新生法印 and 超级流水法印 图标超级流水法印 offer nearly identical healing. Water was chosen as it is cheaper and heals more frequently.

Usage

In addition to 敏捷 图标敏捷, Heal Tempest can provide permanent uptimes of 激怒 图标激怒, 威能 图标威能, 保护 图标保护, 再生 图标再生, 迅捷 图标迅捷 and 活力 图标活力. The way you do so will change between weapons and what your third traitline is.

Auras you apply to allies provide 敏捷 图标敏捷 and healing, and 强效光环 图标强效光环 makes any aura applied to you also apply to allies within 600 units. A standard "loop" is around ~25 seconds, so you want to be providing at least four auras during this.

You can fit in two overloads, so 动荡传导 图标动荡传导 is extremely valuable. This leaves 活力洪流 图标活力洪流 as your only way to apply permanent 活力 图标活力. It also gives 再生 图标再生, so these two boons are easily covered.

With Warhorn, 威能 图标威能 is trivial and you can reliably upkeep 激怒 图标激怒 thanks to 热力同步 图标热力同步. Most supports and some DPS will also provide 激怒 图标激怒, but if you are literally the only source, you could pad your uptime with 能量汇聚 图标能量汇聚 or 空气过载 图标空气过载. An easier approach is just to bring "炽火燎原!" 图标"炽火燎原!" as this also improves 威能 图标威能 generation and provides an aura.

With Staff, your options for 威能 图标威能 and 激怒 图标激怒 are much more limited. You must run "炽火燎原!" 图标"炽火燎原!" to provide permanent 激怒 图标激怒, and the easiest way to provide 威能 图标威能 is with 火焰过载 图标火焰过载. 威能 图标威能 could also be provided by taking the Fire traitline for 火使威势 图标火使威势, but you'll need to attune to fire twice during the loop to reach 25 stacks (or attune once and 火焰过载 图标火焰过载, but then 火焰过载 图标火焰过载 is already providing full 威能 图标威能).

For either weapon, 保护 图标保护 can be covered either by taking the Earth traitline for 元素护盾 图标元素护盾, taking the Arcane traitline and attuning to 大地协调 图标大地协调 twice during the loop, or using 大地过载 图标大地过载. If there are any gaps in your uptime, you can pad it with "天崩地裂!" 图标"天崩地裂!".

Similarly, 迅捷 图标迅捷 can be covered either with the Arcane traitline, "风暴护体!" 图标"风暴护体!", or blasting an air field. The only air field Warhorn has access to is 空气过载 图标空气过载, whilst staff also has 静电力场 图标静电力场.

Warhorn Opener

Warhorn rotation

The core of your boon application is to use 热力同步 图标热力同步 and 砂石狂啸 图标砂石狂啸 whenever they are available (every ~25 seconds with 敏捷 图标敏捷, though the build has enough boon duration to extend each loop up to ~32s if the situation demands), also using the overloads in their respective attunements. This means you want to switch to 火焰协调 图标火焰协调 within ~3 seconds of it coming off cooldown, and repeat the Opener. You should alternate between 流水协调 图标流水协调, 空气协调 图标空气协调 and one of the other attunements, using whichever healing skills are available whenever you return to water. It is important NOT to use 流水过载 图标流水过载 as this will lock you out of 流水协调 图标流水协调 for too long. While in 空气协调 图标空气协调 you can use 气流漩涡 图标气流漩涡 for extra 迅捷 图标迅捷 or CC.

The blast finisher from 能量汇聚 图标能量汇聚 is slightly delayed, so it is possible to cast it then switch to Water and use 冰封爆裂 图标冰封爆裂 before the blast hits, getting two combos.

Be aware that your skills that generate Magnetic Aura - 砂石狂啸 图标砂石狂啸, "天崩地裂!" 图标"天崩地裂!", 大地过载 图标大地过载 via 动荡传导 图标动荡传导, and "五行归元!" 图标"五行归元!" while in 大地协调 图标大地协调 - will cause you to reflect projectiles. This can be very useful, but can also lead to problems at encounters such as Matthias or Cairn if you are not careful when you use them.

Staff Rotation

The main selling point of Staff is the amount of long-range healing it can provide while in 流水协调 图标流水协调, so it is worth camping this attunement for most of the loop. 流水过载 图标流水过载 does not quite provide enough 敏捷 图标敏捷 to make it permanent, so it is necessary to regularly swap to 火焰协调 图标火焰协调 for a second overload and 威能 图标威能.

As it also lacks the utility of Warhorn, "炽火燎原!" 图标"炽火燎原!" is essential as you otherwise lack 激怒 图标激怒, and your 威能 图标威能 would be less reliable.

Be aware that the boon radius for 威能 图标威能 on 火焰过载 图标火焰过载 is only 180, so significant 威能 图标威能 uptime will be lost if you're not stacked tightly on your group. This can be somewhat mitigated by bringing extra blast finishers and comboing with fire fields, or using 小型元素雕文 图标小型元素雕文 in 火焰协调 图标火焰协调 (or swapping to a Warhorn build).

Rest of the Rotation While in 流水协调 图标流水协调 you can autoattack and use 间歇温泉 图标间歇温泉 for group healing. 寒冰尖刺 图标寒冰尖刺 is a blast finisher on a low cooldown, and your skills 3-5 all provide combo fields, and 治疗之雨 图标治疗之雨 provides AoE condi cleanse. Use 流水过载 图标流水过载 as soon as you can, but don't swap attunement immediately. A good rule of thumb is to use 寒冰尖刺 图标寒冰尖刺 three times while you're in Water.

For extra healing you can use a combo field as one of your last skills in 流水协调 图标流水协调, swap to 大地协调 图标大地协调 for 大地喷发 图标大地喷发, then 火焰协调 图标火焰协调. Alternatively, by casting 熔岩喷泉 图标熔岩喷泉 as soon as you switch to 火焰协调 图标火焰协调 then 大地喷发 图标大地喷发 will combo this instead for AoE 威能 图标威能 - this requires not having any lingering combo fields from 流水协调 图标流水协调.

None of the skills in fire are particularly useful, so just use 火焰过载 图标火焰过载 as soon as you can and repeat the Opener.

Healing

Your sustained healing will be lower when outside of 流水协调 图标流水协调, so you should use your other skills to maintain your group's health:

  • "抚慰伤痛!" 图标"抚慰伤痛!" is your bread and butter emergency heal, as it doesn't require you to break from your rotation to use
  • 流水纹章 图标流水纹章 is a substantial heal and partial revive that can target players up to 1200 away. This makes it by far your most reliable ranged heal and therefore it should probably be saved for when it's needed rather than using it on the stack
  • 冰霜长弓 图标冰霜长弓 is a powerful conjure that will provide you with sustained from 流水箭矢 图标流水箭矢 if 流水协调 图标流水协调. The splash healing only works if you hit a target, but it could be used to provide healing to the stack if you need to be at range
  • 冲击水流 图标冲击水流 is an enormous heal on a very low cooldown for as long as your elemental is alive
  • If using 卡拉科萨古物 图标卡拉科萨古物, 秘法波动 图标秘法波动 is an instant-cast blast finisher, and thanks to it having two charges, it can be provide a lot of burst healing if used in quick succession.

Healing tips

  • While not exactly a heal, "五行归元!" 图标"五行归元!" can be much more effective by negating incoming damage that would otherwise down multiple people - good encounter knowledge will help you make the best use of this

Damage

Conveniently, just about every skill is a DPS increase or a heal, so as long as you keep switching attunements at the correct time you can go pretty far by just mashing any skill that's off cooldown.

Fresh Air rotations If you're running 清新气流 图标清新气流, you can structure your rotation for a bit more damage by going from 大地协调 图标大地协调空气协调 图标空气协调流水协调 图标流水协调空气协调 图标空气协调火焰协调 图标火焰协调 after the opener staying in 空气协调 图标空气协调 long enough to use 空气过载 图标空气过载 each time. This is a minor reduction in boon generation that allows you to get two uses each of out 空气过载 图标空气过载, 气流漩涡 图标气流漩涡, and 闪电宝珠 图标闪电宝珠 each loop.

Vulnerability If your group has low 易伤 图标易伤, you can boost it significantly by taking 清新气流 图标清新气流 and/or sceptre:

  • 空气过载 图标空气过载 generates about 15 stacks
  • 闪电宝珠 图标闪电宝珠 can generate 25 stacks even on a small target if aimed properly
  • 寒冰碎石 图标寒冰碎石's short cooldown allows it to be used twice each time you switch to water, for an extra 10 stacks per loop

Crowd control

You don't have a huge amount of CC available, and what you do have is part of your rotation so you may need to delay some skills if there is a defiance bar coming up:

If you're running 清新气流 图标清新气流 you can keep your air skills off cooldown and go about your rotation as normal, as this trait means you will always be able to switch to air as soon as a defiance bar appears.
