Mechanist - Power Mechanist

If you don't have access to Weaponmaster Training with Secrets of the Obscure, you will not be able to wield a hammer. Use Rifle instead.

• Rifle for players without Weaponmaster Training or who prefer a ranged playstyle. Good ranged damage though it performs best in melee range due to 霰弹射击.

Budget consumables are acceptable for use in open world.

DPS

• Prioritize Steak Ascended food.

• 超级磨刀石 / 罐装水果蛋糕

Defense

Heal skill

We default to 整流纹章 because it also heals your mech. Other alternatives can be considered:

• 治疗炮台 provides very high healing and cleanses 2 conditions when first deployed while creating a water field where you can detonate the turret to provide even more healing (See: Guide
  are Combo Fields). Always pick up the turret or detonate it, as it will provide more healing over time than the super weak regeneration that leaving the turret deployed provides.
• 自动除颤 - helpful to negate a big attack or a oneshot. This skill requires a bit more skill to use, as it only provides large healing if you were to take lethal damage.

Utility skills

We default to: 投掷地雷 has great damage and crowd control, never replace it. 位移纹章 shares your boons with your mech, and can be used to stun break and teleport while cleansing two conditions, it's a really good skill. Never replace it. 斥力纹章 is a passive damage increase and can be activated for crowd control in emergencies. It has low impact and can be replaced. Other skills you can consider are:

• U型试剂 - 急速 and stunbreak.
• 屏障纹章 - if you need to block dangerous projectiles.
• 火箭飞靴 - if you need extra mobility.
• C型试剂 - massive condition removal and heals per existing boon.

Elite skill

We default to 超频纹章. It is the best elite for this build. It can be used for damage, or to resummon your mech if it dies. Never replace it.

Trait variants

• 追踪火箭 - use it when playing rifle for higher damage.
• 机甲武器：翠玉加农炮 - if you prefer a ranged mech. The damage difference is negligible for open world, and it might help you stay closer to your mech to maintain 机械天才.

This build is extremely easy to play. The mech will tank most enemies for you and has extremely high health.

Damage

• Spam 电子回旋, 投掷地雷, and 雷霆一击. You can also use 火箭冲锋 to command your mech to use 火箭拳, this doesn't interrupt any action the Mech is doing.
  • If using rifle, spam 霰弹射击 (preferably in melee range) and 跳跃射击. You can also use 捕网射击 to command your mech to use 火箭拳, this doesn't interrupt any action the Mech is doing. You can save 过载射击 for CC or to cleanse yourself of movement-impeding conditions, or otherwise spammed for damage.
• Stay near your mech to avoid the small cooldown penalty of 机械天才.
• Spam your mech F1 skill off cooldown. You can set it to auto-cast if you want by pressing control+mouse 2 on the skill.
• F2 and F3 can be spammed for damage, or saved if you need CC. If you need to save them for CC, do not set them to auto-cast.
• In fights where your mech is not at risk of dying, you can use 超频纹章 for extra damage.
• Stay close to your target to benefit from 粗略瞄准 and 优质枪械.

Defense

• The best defense is always to dodge or sidestep attacks
• Your mech will tank most enemies for you. Hide behind it when fighting enemies that fire projectiles.
• If your mech is standing in a damaging AoE, you can recall it to your location with F7 Return to Me, then command it to continue attacking with F1 Attack My Target.
• You can block attacks with 电击护盾.
• You can teleport out of danger with 位移纹章. This skill also cleanses 2 conditions from yourself and your mech.
• If your mech dies, wait three seconds for the skill to go on cooldown, then use 超频纹章 to resummon it immediatly.
• You have minor healing over time from both 整流纹章 and 超然爆发.
• If your enemy gives itself boons, save 投掷地雷 to remove up to 3 of them.

Crowd control

• 投掷地雷
• 火箭冲锋 ⇒ 火箭拳
• 反应堆核心射击 (Mech's F2)
• 翠玉迫击炮 (Mech's F3)

Ascended gear is not required.

If you are gearing this character from zero, start with exotic quality gear. Search the trading post for "Nika" armor. Then search for the weapons you want to use: "Ironfist" hammer, "Exterminator" rifle. Upgrade to ascended gear as you progress. See also: Guide

• You can use to trade a minor amount of damage for sustain.
• For defense, equip the highest tier Jade Core you can afford.
