A Chronomancer can change between pure damage and generating either Quickness or Alacrity by swapping a single trait in the Chronomancer grandmaster trait line:
Feel free to pick any variant to begin learning the build. Having the freedom of choice makes it easy in group encounters to adapt.
In this guide, the focus will be on laying the groundwork for the Full Boon Build, but it can easily be used as an intro to Power DPS Build as well, because the rotation and overall concept does not change.
As you practice in PvE content, it is easier to select and provide Quickness for your subgroup. You will generate some personal Alacrity thanks to and most Healers will overcap Alacrity due to their need for high boon duration.
Make sure when practicing on the Golem that you turn off whatever boon you are generating.
Phantasms
Each Phantasm summoned generates 3 seconds of Quickness/Alacrity for your subgroup.
Shattering Clones
Each Phantasm, when done with it's attack, will turn into a Clone and skills like will create a Clone as well. Each Shatter skill used generates 1 second per Clone shattered of Quickness/Alacrity, plus 1 second since you always count as a Clone for game effects. If used off Cooldown, will generate 4 seconds of boon uptime every ~10 seconds. If is also used, that grows to 11 seconds of boons ever ~22 seconds.
Alright, to generate Quickness/Alacrity for your subgroup with 100% uptime, you want to create Phantasms and then use your Shatter skills as often as possible, ideally with 3 active Clones. See Clone & Boon Info if you need a refresher on how boons are generated.
Let's begin with Dagger/Sword:
Now we switch to Spear where the rotation is more rigid:
间隙危机 2 →
幻影长矛 4: The first skill gives Clarity allowing the second to make two Phantasms.
精神崩塌 5 →
间隙危机 2: The first skill here refreshes the second allowing you to get an extra Clone.Pretty easy so far, right? Now, you need to pay a bit more attention. To actually generate more boons, you need to Shatter your Clones. Aim to use
分裂时间 F1 or
回归原位 F2 whenever you have 3 Clones.
Putting it all together, your basic rotation should be:
Dagger/Sword:
幻影剑客 5 twice2 off CooldownF1 onceF2 once if availableSpear:
2 → 4 twice5 → 2 onceF1 onceF2 once if available F5 is the main mechanic of the Chronomancer elite specialization. Activating it creates a rift at your current position that saves your current Health, Endurance, and Cooldowns. When the skill ends, you will rewind to the prior saved state. And yes, that means all skill you press while in will be refreshed.
The opener is important to learn as it provides a comfortable boon buffer. Start each encounter in Dagger/Sword and use:
5 → 22F552 → 43F1 to F4.When F5 ends, pick up with your combos from Step 1 remembering to Weapon Swap often. You now have a good boon buffer built up.
Now you're ready to expand the opener a little more. The goal is to maximize boon generation and align Cooldowns so smoothly go into the rotation from Step 1. Starting on Dagger/Sword:
35 → 22F552 → 43F1 to F4.F52 → 45F124You may have noticed that has snuck into the rotation. When used, it resets the Cooldowns of your Phantasm skills. Here we use it to sneak an extra Clarity empowered 4 in. The next step will discuss more.
Do not move on until you can reliably complete this extended opener fluently and fast. Aim for 12 seconds! In that time, you will generates over 35 seconds of Quickness/Alacrity for your subgroup. After that, you only need to worry about maintaining the boon duration.
To generate some extra boons and increase damage, use the following to fill instead of Auto Attack when available:
2 in Dagger/Sword twice per loop3 in Spear once per loopThere are a few more skills of note that will help improve your playstyle:
5 and 4. Generally speaking, it is best used in Dagger/Sword for a third 5. If bad encounter phasing, allied boons are getting stripped, or another reason for boon uptime to faulter occurs, you can use on Spear for a third 2 → 4, but this is not recommended. F4 will increase your Strike Damage for 8 seconds whenever you apply a disable on your target. This amplifies your damage when built in properly into the rotation. Aim to use at least one of the following between each Weapon Swap:
Additionally, when using F5 try to use your Wells and any other weapon skills you can fit in.
You are now ready for the Full Boon Build and the Power DPS Build. Both have more complex openers which you should master, and mostly rely on short timeframes to hit your combos. The boon build will also introducte a faster paced gameplay making Quickness/Alacrity uptime tighter.
can also be used off Cooldown for damage while benching, but it has been excluded from this guide to be used for big Breakbar damage. If timing allows, add it to your F2 rotation.
Ready? Good luck!
