Weapon Variants

Usage of Spear requires the Janthir Wilds expansion.

• Longbow - provides high burst damage from range, but has slightly lower damage.
• Mainhand Sword + Focus - default set for players without Spear.

Heal

愤怒祷词 provides insane sustain, making you almost immmortal for its duration.

• 决心纹章 can be considered as a more defensive option.
• 命运逆转 - blocks one attack but has weaker healing.

Utility

Swap out 怨毒纹章. first, then 闪现连击.

• 脚踵碎裂 - moderate CC on a short cooldown
• "坚守阵地！" - defense; area 稳固 and personal stunbreak.
• "前进！" - provides on-demand 圣盾 and 迅捷. Good in zergs or when fighting enemies with predictable attack patterns.
• "守住阵线！" - 保护 for yourself and allies.
• 症状惩戒 - condi cleanse
• 反射之墙 - excellent projectile reflection
• 庇护之地 - projectile block and extreme CC, though it has a long cooldown

Elite

• "怒气冲天！" - 急速 and 激怒
• 专注复苏 - invulnerability on a long cooldown.

Ascended gear is not required. This set uses gear similar to that of its raid variant; as such, it is excellent for general PVE.

DPS Equipment

This set uses equipment similar to typical Power Willbender raid builds and is a great choice for general PVE.

If you are gearing this character from zero, start with exotic quality gear. Search the trading post for "Devona" armor. Then search for the weapons you want to use: "Impaler" spear, "Ebonblade" greatsword, "Eir's Longbow" longbow, "Bonetti's Rapier" sword, "Adam" focus. Upgrade to ascended gear as you progress. Virtues

Willbender virtues lose their passive effects, but their activations are more useful.

It is extremely important to periodically use your virtues to maintain stacks of , which is empowered by ; and maintain . They also provide boons through .

Damage

• Turn off "Melee Attack Assist" in Options. This allows you to use inside an enemy's hitbox so that all projectiles hit your target.
• Make sure to hit enemies with your symbols to gain stacks of and inflict vulnerability from .
• Maintain uptime on with Virtues. Prioritise to gain boons from .
• Use at the start to apply vulnerability, and then periodically throughout the fight instead of autoattacks.
• Make sure to use first to empower your other spear skills with Illuminated.
